Managing License

Managing License

Specific licenses are required for some functions of the MX210 switch module. For example, the Full Fabric license is required for device cascading, or the Full Fabric license and ISL Trunking license are required for port aggregation.

The MX210 supports the following licenses that maximize the return on investment (ROI) on the Brocade and SAN Fabric for users.

  • Full Fabric license

Allows the MX210 mezzanine switch module to connect to the Brocade SAN in fabric OS native mode.

  • ISL Trunking License

Allows you to aggregate multiple physical links into a logical link, improving network performance and fault tolerance.

  • POD License

Available only for the new MX210 and used to activate FC ports 5 to 8 on the panel.

To use the preceding functions of the MX210, apply for and purchase required licenses from Huawei local sales representatives.

To apply for a license, contact Huawei technical support.

Applying for a License

This topic describes how to apply for the MX210 license.
