Configuring Basic Information Using Web Tools

This topic describes how to configure the basic information about the MX210 using Web Tools. The basic information includes the device name, status, and domain ID.

Changing the Device Name

A unique device name helps locate the device quickly on a complicated network. To change the device name for the MX210 switch module, perform the following steps:

Procedure
  1. Log in to the MX210.

    For details, see Logging In to the MX210 Using Web Tools.

  2. On the menu bar of the Web Tools, choose Configure > Switch Admin.

    The Switch Administration dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-20.

  3. Click the Switch tab and enter the name of the new device in Name.
  4. Click Apply. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

Setting the Device Status

Enable or disable the MX210 switch module.

Procedure
  1. Log in to the MX210.

    For details, see Logging In to the MX210 Using Web Tools.

  2. On the menu bar of the Web Tools, choose Configure > Switch Admin.

    The Switch Administration dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 4-21.

  3. Click the Switch tab. In Switch Status, select Enable or Disable.
  4. Click Apply. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.

Setting a Domain ID

Reset domain IDs for FC switches on the fabric network.

Context
NOTICE:

The domain ID of each FC switch on a fabric network must be unique.

Procedure
  1. Disable the MX210.

    For details, see Setting the Device Status.

  2. In Switch Name and Domain ID, set the new Domain ID.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. In Switch Status, select Enable to enable the MX210.
  5. Click Apply. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes.
