Precautions

When using BIOS to delete the console port password, pay attention to the following points:

  • On the CE12800 and CE12800E, the Mini USB/Micro USB port and console port provide the same functions. The Mini USB/Micro USB port can be also used in this example. When using the Mini USB/Micro USB port, install the driver of the Mini USB/Micro USB port on the PC and use the Mini USB/Micro USB cable to connect the device to the PC.

  • The CE12800 is used as an example. On the CE5800 and 6800, connect devices according to actual interfaces.

  • After the console port password is deleted using BIOS, authentication is not required for login through the console port. This configuration is valid for the device that starts up currently. When the device starts up again, authentication is still required for login through the console port. After the console port password is deleted using BIOS, change the console port password immediately and save the configuration.
