Enabling DDDC support

Enabling DDDC support

This topic describes how to enable the DDDC support function.

Scenarios

Enable or disable the DDDC support function using basic input/output system (BIOS) programs.

The DDDC support function is used for correcting errors of two different DRAM devices on the same DIMM one by one and supports only a DIMM with x4 devices in LOCKSTEP mode. Granule replacement can be performed twice using the function. This improves memory reliability and self-repair capabilities. This function is disabled by default.

This operation has no adverse impact on the system.

Prerequisites

Conditions

You have accessed BIOS. For details, see 2.1 .

Data

Data preparation is not required for this operation.

Procedure

  1. Choose IntelRCSetup > Memory Configuration and press Enter.

    The Memory Configuration screen appears, as shown in Figure 3-10.

  2. Select VMSE Lockstep mode and press Enter, as shown in Figure 3-10.
  3. Choose Enable from the shortcut menu to enable the VMSE lockstep mode.
  4. Press Esc to return to IntelRCSetup, select Memory RAS Configuration, and press Enter.

    The Memory RAS Configuration screen appears, as shown in Figure 3-11.

  5. Choose Enable from the shortcut menu to enable DDDC Support.
  6. Press Esc to return to IntelRCSetup, select Runtime Error Logging, and press Enter.

    The Runtime Error Logging screen appears, as shown in Figure 3-12.

  7. Select System Errors and press Enter, as shown in Figure 3-12.
  8. Choose Enable from the shortcut menu.
  9. Press F10.

    The Exit Saving changes? dialog box appears.

  10. Select Yes to save the settings.
