This topic describes security control parameters on the Security screen.

You can set the administrator password on the Security screen.Figure 4-42 shows the Security screen. Table 4-46 describes the parameters on this screen.

Default Value

Administrator Password

Sets an administrator password.


To restore the default password, see How Do I Restore the Default BIOS Password?


Clear Admin Password

Deletes the administrator password.


Power On Password (For the RH8100 V3 server configured with the IvyBridge CPU, this parameter is on the Miscellaneous Configuration screen instead of the Security screen.)

Indicates whether to enable the power-on password function. If this function is enabled, you need to enter the administrator password upon power-on. The options are as follows:

  • Enable
  • Disable
