Removing the RAID Controller Card

Removing the RAID Controller Card

  1. Power off the server. For details, see Powering On and Off the RH5885 V3. Remove all power cables.
  2. Remove the chassis cover of the RH5885 V3. For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
  3. Remove the riser card tray above the RAID controller card. For details, see Removing the Riser Card.
  4. If the intelligent battery backup unit (iBBU) or supercapacitor is installed, remove the iBBU or supercapacitor. For details, see Removing a Battery or Supercapacitor.
  5. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see Safety Instructions.
  6. Remove the cables from the RAID controller card. See step (1) in Figure 5-48.

  7. Unscrew the RAID controller card. See step (2) in Figure 5-48.
  8. Lift the RAID controller card slowly out of the server. See step (3) in Figure 5-48.
  9. Place the removed RAID controller card in an ESD bag.
