Installing the NIC

Installing the NIC

  1. Power off the server. For details, see Powering On and Off the RH5885 V3. Remove all power cables.
  2. Install the mainboard if it is not installed. For details, see Installing the Mainboard.
  3. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see Safety Instructions.
  4. Take the spare NIC out of the ESD bag.
  5. Install the NIC in the bracket. See (1) in Figure 5-83.

  6. Tighten the screws of the NIC using a Phillips screwdriver. See (2) in Figure 5-83.
  7. Place the NIC horizontally and insert it into the chassis until it does not move. See step (1) in Figure 5-84.

  8. Screw the NIC using a Phillips screwdriver. See step (2) in Figure 5-84.
