Installing the RH5885 V3 on Holding Rails

Installing the RH5885 V3 on Holding Rails

Ensure the following conditions are met before installing the RH5885 V3:

  • A rack is properly installed.
  • The installation environment check is complete based on Installation Overview.

Procedure

  1. Insert the positioning pins on the rear end of the holding rail into the square holes in the rack. See Figure 3-9.

Figure 3-9 Installing the rear end of the holding rail

  2. Install the front end of the holding rail.

    1. Hold down the plate, and pull out the hook. See Figure 3-10.

    2. Align the front end of the holding rail with the hole in the column, and push the holding rail forward to insert it into the hole in the column. See Figure 3-11.

    3. Push the hook backwards to move the metal sheet close to the column. See Figure 3-12.

  3. Install the chassis.

    1. Pull out the inner rails slightly. See Figure 3-13.
Figure 3-13 Pulling out the inner rails

    2. Hold down the plate, and pull out the inner rails completely. See Figure 3-14.
Figure 3-14 Pulling out the inner rails completely

    3. Align the positioning holes in the inner rails with the positioning pins on the chassis. Push the inner rails forward until the inner rails are secured to the chassis. See Figure 3-15.

    4. Lift the chassis, align the inner rails with the holding rails, and push the chassis in along the holding rails. See Figure 3-16.

    5. Keep the mounting ears on both sides of the RH5885 V3 in close contact with the mounting bars of the cabinet, press the latches on the mounting ears, and tighten the captive screws to secure the RH5885 V3. See Figure 3-17.

  4. Install a cable management arm (CMA), as shown in Figure 3-18.

    1. Hold the cross bar with the UP side facing upwards, and make it parallel the guide rail. Place the cross bar in the notch from down to up.
    2. Rotate the cross bar leftwards to prevent fall-off during the installation.

Determine the cross bar position based on the PSU positions. For example, if the PSU is on the right in the rear view of the chassis, install the cross bar on the left; if the PSU is on the left in the rear view of the chassis, install the cross bar on the right.

    3. Position the CMA stopper parallel to the cross bar, and place the CMA stopper in the notch.
    4. Rotate the CMA stopper rightwards to prevent fall-off during the installation.
    5. Snap the CMA stopper into the outer rail.
    6. Snap the CMA connector into the inner rail.
    7. Insert the CMA arm B into the inner rail of the holding rail, and swing the CMA arm B. Ensure that the arm B is locked.
    8. Insert the CMA arm A into the CMA connector, and swing the CMA arm A. Ensure that the arm A is locked.
