Installing the BMC Card

Installing the BMC Card

  1. Power off the server. For details, see Powering On and Off the RH5885 V3. Remove all power cables.
  2. Remove the chassis cover of the RH5885 V3. For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
  3. Remove the riser card tray above the BMC card. For details, see Removing the Riser Card.
  4. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see Safety Instructions.
  5. Take the spare iMana card out of the ESD bag.
  6. Align the connector on the iMana card with the port on the mainboard, and insert the iMana card slowly into the mainboard. See step (1) in Figure 5-88.

  7. Screw the iMana card. See step (2) in Figure 5-88.
