Removing the Supercapacitor

Removing the Supercapacitor

  1. Power off the server. For details, see Powering On and Off the RH5885 V3. Remove all power cables.
  2. Remove the chassis cover of the RH5885 V3. For details, see Removing the Chassis Cover.
  3. Remove the riser card tray above the RAID controller card. For details, see Removing the Riser Card.
  4. Remove the air duct of the RH5885 V3. For details, see Removing the Air Duct.
  5. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see Safety Instructions.
  6. Hold down the plastic latches on the supercapacitor tray. See step (1) in Figure 5-54.

  7. Pull the supercapacitor tray in the arrow direction to remove it. See step (2) in Figure 5-54.
  8. Vertically lift the trans flash module (TFM) out of the RAID controller card. See step (1) in Figure 5-55.

  9. Open the plastic latches that secure the supercapacitor. See step (2) in Figure 5-55.
  10. Exert even force to remove the supercapacitor from the tray. See step (3) in Figure 5-55.
  11. Place the removed supercapacitor in an ESD bag.
