Removing an AC PSU

When PSUs are fully configured, you can remove a PSU without powering off the RH5885 V3 if the other PSUs are operating properly.

Observe the PSU indicators to check the PSU operating status.


  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves. For details, see Safety Instructions.
    • The PSUs support double-pole/neutral fusing.
    • The recommended current specifications for the external power circuit breaker connected to the RH5885 V3 are as follows: ≥ 36 A AC

  2. Remove a power cable from a PSU.

    • If the PSU has a velcro strap, undo the velcro strap. See step (1) in Figure 5-18. Then remove the power cable. See step (2) in Figure 5-18.

    • If the PSU has a plastic clip, perform the following steps to remove the power cable:
      1. Open the lock of the plastic clip. See a of step (1) in Figure 5-19. Slide the plastic clip away from the PSU socket. See b of step (1) in Figure 5-19.

      2. Open the plastic clip. See step (2) in Figure 5-19.
      3. Remove the power cable from the plastic clip. See step (3) in Figure 5-19.

  3. Hold down the release button, and hold the handle to pull out part of the PSU. See step (1) in Figure 5-20.

  4. Release the release button, and remove the PSU from the slot. See step (2) in Figure 5-20.
  5. Place the removed PSU into an ESD bag.
