Error Message Is Displayed When RHEL 6.8 Is Restarted After Installation

Problem Description

When Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.8 is restarted after installation, the error message shown in the following figure is displayed.

Key Process and Cause Analysis

Cause Analysis:

When RHEL 6 boots over UEFI, Trusted Boot (tboot) is not supported. For details, visit the Red Hat knowledge base.

The KunLun supports only UEFI boot. If you manually select tboot (as shown in the following figure) during the OS installation, the preceding error message is displayed when the OS is started after the installation.

Conclusion and Solution

  1. To use tboot, the Legacy boot must be used.
  2. If only the UEFI boot is available (for example, KunLun servers), do not select tboot during OS installation.
