Using iMana 200 to Collect Information

Using iMana 200 to Collect Information

This collection method applies only to servers and blades. To collect information about switch modules in one-click mode, use the MM910 WebUI.

  1. Use PuTTY to log in to the server. For details, see Logging In to a Server Over a Network Port by Using PuTTY or Logging In to a Compute Node, Pass-through Module, or Switch Module over SOL.
  2. On the iMana 200 CLI, run the imtool command (version earlier than 7.01), or run the ipmcset -t maintenance -d imtool command (7.01 or later). The command output is as follows:

    root@BMC:/#ipmcset -t maintenance -d imtool
tar: removing leading '/' from member names
    Tar result information success.

If the following information is displayed, log collection is successful.

tar: removing leading '/' from member names
    Tar result information success.

  3. In a cross-platform file transfer tool, connect to the iMana 200 IP address.

This section uses WinSCP as the cross-platform file transfer tool. For details, see Using WinSCP to Transfer Files.

  4. Download the tar.gz package of iMana 200 in /tmp to a directory on a local PC. See Figure 3-22.
