Introduction to ZTP

Introduction to ZTP

This section describes definition and purpose of ZTP.

Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) allows unconfigured devices to automatically load version files including system software, configuration files, and patch files after they start.

After devices are installed, administrators have to commission the software onsite. If a large number of devices are sparsely distributed on a network, manually configuring these device lowers device deployment efficiency and increases labor costs.

Devices running ZTP can automatically obtain and load version files from a file server, freeing the administrators from onsite configuration or deployment. ZTP reduces labor costs and increases device deployment efficiency.
