Maintaining Traffic Policing, Traffic Shaping, and Interface-based Rate Limiting

Maintaining Traffic Policing, Traffic Shaping, and Interface-based Rate Limiting

Maintaining traffic policing, traffic shaping, and interface-based rate limiting includes displaying and clearing traffic statistics.

Displaying Traffic Statistics

Context

To view MQC-based traffic statistics, ensure that a traffic policy has been created and the traffic statistics action has been configured in the traffic policy.

Procedure

  • Run the display traffic-policy statistics { global [ slot slot-id ] | interface interface-type interface-number | vlan vlan-id } { inbound | outbound } [ verbose { classifier-base | rule-base } [ class classifier-name ] ] command to check MQC-based traffic statistics.
  • Run the display qos car statistics interface interface-type interface-number inbound command to check the statistics on forwarded and discarded packets on a specified interface with inbound rate limiting enabled.
  • Run the display qos queue statistics interface interface-type interface-number command to check queue-based traffic statistics on an interface.

Clearing Traffic Statistics

Context

Cleared flow-based traffic statistics cannot be restored. Exercise caution when you run the reset command.

Procedure

  • Run the reset qos car statistics interface interface-type interface-number inbound command to clear the statistics on forwarded and discarded packets on a specified interface with inbound rate limiting enabled.
  • Run the reset qos queue statistics interface interface-type interface-number command to clear queue-based traffic statistics on an interface.
