This section describes the applicable scenario of priority re-marking.

Priority Re-marking Application

Priority re-marking technology re-marks the packets that require a short delay and high service quality with a high priority so that the packets can be preferentially scheduled or forwarded.

As shown in Figure 13-37, enterprise users receive and send emails and obtain working data through the Internet. They require that working data be obtained in a timely manner and email receiving and sending be delayed.

Service Deployment

  • Configure a traffic classifier and define a matching rule based on source IP addresses to differentiate packets from the email server and data server.
  • Configure a traffic behavior to set a high priority for packets from the data server and a low priority for packets from the email server so that packets from the data server have higher priority than packets from the email server.
  • Configure a traffic policy, bind the traffic classifier and traffic behavior to the traffic policy, and apply the traffic policy to the inbound direction of SwitchA so that packets from the data server have higher priority.
