Common Configuration Errors

Common Configuration Errors

This section describes common faults caused by incorrect configuration of multicast VLAN replication and provides the troubleshooting procedure.

User Hosts in the User VLAN Fail to Receive Multicast Data

Fault Description

After VLAN-based multicast VLAN replication is configured, user hosts in the user VLAN cannot receive multicast data.

  • Check whether multicast VLAN replication is correctly configured.

Run the display multicast vlan mvlan [ vlan-id ] command to check whether the user VLAN is bound to a correct multicast VLAN.

    • If the user VLAN is not bound to a correct multicast VLAN, run the multicast vlan user-vlan command to bind VLANs correctly.
    • If the user VLAN is bound to a correct multicast VLAN, check whether other Layer 2 multicast configurations conflict.
The following information shows that user VLANs 100 and 200 are bound to multicast VLAN 10 correctly.
<HUAWEI> display multicast vlan mvlan 5
