Clearing STP/RSTP Statistics


STP/RSTP statistics cannot be restored after being cleared.


  • Run the reset stp [ interface interface-type interface-number ] statistics command to clear spanning-tree statistics.

Monitoring the Statistics on STP/RSTP Topology Changes

The statistics about STP/RSTP topology changes can be viewed. If the statistics increase, network flapping occurs.


  • Run the display stp [ process process-id ] [ instance instance-id ] topology-change command to view the statistics about STP/RSTP topology changes.
  • Run the display stp [ process process-id ] [ instance instance-id ] [ interface interface-type interface-number | slot slot-id ] tc-bpdu statistics command to view the statistics about sent and received TC/TCN packets.
