Figure 3-7 shows the port allocation of an SX6018 switch.

  • Downstream ports

    Each SX6018 switch connects to nodes through 16 downstream ports.

    When the front-end service network uses 10GE network and back-end storage network uses IB network
    • The SX6018-1 switch connects to the A0-0 port of a P/C/M node.
    • The SX6018-2 switch connects to the A0-1 port of a P/C/M node.
    When both the front-end service network and back-end storage network use IB network
    • The SX6018-1 switch connects to the A0-0 port of a P/C/M node.
    • The SX6018-2 switch connects to the B3-0 port of a P/C/M node.
  • Switch interconnection ports

    Two ports are used for interconnection between two SX6018 switches.

NOTE:
SX6018 switches provide the management function. To disable the subnet management function, log in to the switch management interface, choose Fabric MGMT > Base SM, and deselect SM Enable.
Figure 3-8 shows the port allocation of an SX6036 switch.

  • Downstream ports

    Each SX6036 switch connects to nodes through 34 downstream ports.

    When the front-end service network uses 10GE network and back-end storage network uses IB network
    • The SX6036-1 switch connects to the A0-0 port of a P/C/M node.
    • The SX6036-2 switch connects to the A0-1 port of a P/C/M node.
    When both the front-end service network and back-end storage network use IB network
    • The SX6036-1 switch connects to the A0-0 port of a P/C/M node.
    • The SX6036-2 switch connects to the B3-0 port of a P/C/M node.
  • Switch interconnection ports

    Two ports are used for interconnection between two SX6036 switches.

  • Reserved ports

    Reserved ports are free ports. To prevent adverse impact on working ports, you are advised to run shutdown to shut down the reserved ports. For details on the shutdown command, refer to the related switch documentation.

NOTE:
SX6036 switches provide the management function. To disable the subnet management function, log in to the switch management interface, choose Fabric MGMT > Base SM, and deselect SM Enable.

Figure 3-9 shows how ports on an S5752 switch are configured. Figure 3-10 shows how ports on a CE5800 switch are configured.

  • IPMI downstream port

    An S5752/CE6800 switch uses 16 ports to connect to the IPMI ports of nodes in sequential order.

  • NIC0 downstream port

    Three NIC0 downstream ports connect to the first three nodes (nodes 01 to 03 in the basic cabinet) of OceanStor 9000.

  • (Optional) Upstream ports

    Upstream ports are used to connect to the user's management network.

  • Reserved ports

    Reserved ports are free ports. To prevent adverse impact on working ports, you are advised to run shutdown to shut down the reserved ports. For details about the shutdown command, refer to the related switch documentation.
