DeviceManager Account Management

DeviceManager Account Management

The administrators in DeviceManager of WushanFS include the super administrator, administrators, read-only users, resource administrators, and device administrators.

Different administrators in DeviceManager have different permissions. When creating an administrator, you need to choose a level for it and specify proper permissions. The admin (super administrator) account is provided by default. This account cannot be changed or deleted.

  1. Choose Settings > Viewing and Setting > Permission Settings > User Management.
  2. In the function pane, the admin account can perform the operations of creating, deleting, locking, and unlocking an account and forcing users to go offline.

    Table 2-1   Account management

    Administrator with Execution Permission

    Super administrator

You can restrict users' operations on OceanStor 9000 and improve OceanStor 9000 security by creating different user accounts. The super administrator is generated by the system by default. You cannot delete or lock the super administrator or force it offline.

A maximum of 127 user accounts can be created.

    Super administrator

If you do not need a user account, you can delete it.

For a user account whose Status is ONLINE, you can delete it only after you have forced it offline.

    Super administrator

When a user account becomes abnormal, the super administrator can lock it. After the user account is locked, the user cannot be used for login. However, before the account logs out, it can perform operations.

    Super administrator

When a user becomes normal again, the administrator can unlock it.

    Forcing an account offline

    Super administrator

If you do not want a user account to perform operations in OceanStor 9000 or in resources, the super administrator can force the user account to log out of DeviceManager by forcing it offline.

    Super administrator

This operation enables you to reset passwords of the administrator, read-only user, resource administrator, and device administrator and change user roles. Besides, you can change the super administrator's password and the email for password retrieval.

    The initialized password is Admin@storage.

If the SystemReporter (dedicated report server for WushanFS) is used, every time after you change the password, you must log in to SystemReporter to update the registered password of the WushanFS within 24 hours.
