CLI Account Management

Creating a CLI Account

When the system is installed, a unique super administrator admin with the highest permission is automatically generated. You will not be able to create super administrators, but you can use the super administrator account to create new users. After logging in to the CLI using the super administrator account, run the following command to create an account:

create system user <name> <level> [description]

User name

The user name can contain 4 to 31 letters, digits, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.), and the user name must start with a letter and end with a letter or digit.


User level

  • admin: Administrator. An administrator can manage users, file systems, rack devices, and alarms and change its own password.
  • readonly: Read-only user. A read-only user can only check information and change its own password.
  • resource_admin: Resource administrator. A resource administrator can manage file systems and alarms and change its own password but cannot manage users.
  • device_admin: Device administrator. A device administrator can manage rack devices, and alarms and change its own password but cannot manage users.


User description

The value contains 0 to 255 characters.



The value contains 8 to 32 characters. The password length and complexity depend on users' security policies.

Changing a Password

Only the super administrator can initialize other users' passwords, and users at other levels can only change their own passwords.

The change system user password command is used to change users' passwords.

Change Account Levels

Only the super administrator has the permission to change a user's level. The super administrator's level cannot be changed.

The change system user mode <id> <level>command is used to change users' levels.

Querying User Information

Run show system user general to query the information about all users in the system.

Run show system user general [id] to query the information about a specified user.

Deleting an Offline User

The super administrator deletes an offline non-administrator user by running the following command:

delete system user <id>
