Changing the Default User Passwords on the MM910 WebUI

This topic describes how to change the passwords for the default accounts of the MX210 by using the MM910 WebUI.

Scenarios

Change the passwords for the default accounts of the MX210 by using the MM910 WebUI.

Prerequisites

Conditions

  • The CX210 is powered on.
  • The MM910 is powered on.
  • Switch centralized management has been enabled so that the easyLink feature can be used.

Data

The MX210 provides the following default accounts with the default password Huawei12#$:

  • admin: The system administrator has permission to set and query device information.
  • user: The common user has permission to query device information.
  • root:
    • You can run universal Linux commands to query all binary files of user root.
    • Commands under user root are provided by Brocade and are used only for maintenance. These commands are not available for end users.
    • Commands under user root are available for maintenance only when the network is reachable and you have the root user password.

A reachable network indicates that the route configuration of the user network allows the Internet to directly access the IP address of the management network port on the MX210. The default IP address of the management network port is 10.77.77.77/24. The MX210 can be accessed for remote maintenance only when you have configured the accessible route for the network segment.

  • factory: provided by Brocade and reserved for future use. The account is not available for end users.
NOTE:
  • At the first login to the switch module, change the password for the default account and record the new password.
  • The default passwords of users root and factory must be changed.

Table 4-5 lists the default data to be prepared.
