ALM-0x06000025 Communication with the RAID Controller Card Lost (RAID Card, Major Alarm)

Description

Alarm message:

Communication between the iBMC and arg2 RAID controller card arg1 failed (SN: arg3, PN: arg4).
NOTE:

From iBMC V328, the RAID controller card and PSU alarms will also include the SN and BOM code, and the fan alarms will also include the BOM code.

This alarm is generated when the communication with the RAID controller card was lost.

Services related to the RAID controller card are affected.

Possible Causes

  • The initialization of the RAID controller card failed, or the RAID controller card is faulty.
  • The PCIe link is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the server has the alarm 0x28000001, 0x06000005, or 0x06000027. If yes, clear the alarm.
  2. Check whether the boot mode set on the BIOS is Legacy. If yes, change the boot mode to UEFI, save the settings, and restart the system. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 3.

  3. Restart the server and open the BIOS Device Manager in UEFI mode. On the Driver Health screen, select Repair the whole platform, and press Enter. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    For details, see Troubleshooting of the corresponding RAID controller card model in the Huawei V2 and V3 Server RAID Controller Card User Guide or Huawei V5 Server RAID Controller Card User Guide.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 4.

  4. Check whether the option Rom space is insufficient in legacy mode. If yes, change the BIOS boot mode to UEFI. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 5.

  5. Contact Huawei technical support.
