ALM-0x2C00000D No Memory Detected During POST (System, Critical Alarm)

Description

Alarm message:

No memory detected. 

This alarm is generated during BIOS startup when any of the following occurs:

  • No DIMM is detected.
  • The only DIMM is faulty.
  • The only DIMM is installed in an incorrect position.

Impact on the System

The server cannot start.

Possible Causes

  • No DIMM is installed.
  • The only DIMM is faulty and therefore isolated by the BIOS.
  • The only DIMM is installed in an incorrect position.

Procedure

  1. Check the CPU and DIMM models.
  2. Use Intelligent Computing Compatibility Checker to check whether the CPUs and DIMMs are compatible with the server.

    • If yes, go to 4.

    • If no, go to 3.

  3. Replace the DIMMs with the ones that are compatible with the server and CPUs. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 5.

  4. Check whether the server is configured with the DIMMs of the same model.

    • If yes, go to 5.

    • If no, go to 6.

  5. Use the DIMMs of the same model. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 6.

  6. Replace the mainboard. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 7.

  7. Contact Huawei technical support.
