Description

Alarm message:

Communication between the iBMC and [arg1] PCIe card arg2 (arg3) failed.

This alarm is generated when the communication with the PCIe plug-in RAID controller card was lost.

Possible Causes

  • The initialization of the RAID controller card failed, or the RAID controller card is faulty.
  • The PCIe link is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Restart the server and open the BIOS Device Manager in UEFI mode. On the Driver Health screen, select Repair the whole platform, and press Enter. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    For details, see Troubleshooting of the corresponding RAID controller card model in the Huawei V5 Server RAID Controller Card User Guide.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 2.

  2. Check whether the RAID card firmware version matches the RAID card driver version. If yes, upgrade the firmware or the driver to the latest version. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 3

  3. Check whether the OptionRom space is insufficient in legacy mode. If yes, change the BIOS boot mode to UEFI. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.

    • If no, go to 4.

  4. Contact Huawei technical support.
