Configuration Operations

After planning the network and service takeover, complete the configuration on the DeviceManager to enable data migration using LUN copy.


  • The application server correctly connects to the device A and device B.
  • The device A connects normally to the device Busing a Fibre Channel host port.


  1. Check that the LUN copy license is valid.

    LUN copy is a value-added feature. Before configuring this feature, make sure that the license files in the device A and device Bcontain information about LUN copy.

    Operation path: > License Management > Active License.

  2. Create a target LUN in the device B.
    1. Create a disk domain.

      Operation path: > Disk Domain > Create.

    2. Create a storage pool.

      Operation path: > Storage Pool > Create.

    3. Create a target LUN.

      Operation path: > LUN > Create.

  3. Establish the logical connection between the device A and device B.

    Operation path: > Remote Device > Add Remote Device.

    • If remote devices are OceanStor 18000 series V1R1C20, T series V2R2C20, or OceanStor V3 series V3R1C10 or later, you need to use the machine-machine user. For the default username and password of the machine-machine user, please refer to OceanStor 5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Storage System V300R002 Security Configuration Guide.
    • If remote devices are OceanStor 18000 series V1R1C10, T series V2R2C10, or OceanStor V3 series V3R1C00 or earlier, you need to use the password of the super administrator or administrator account on the older version remote device. The username and password of the super administrator or administrator account are consistent with the password on the remote device.

  4. Add a link.

    Operation path: > Remote Device > Add Link.

  5. Create a LUN copy task in the device B.

    Operation path: > LUN Copy > Create.
