This section describes the impacts of LUN copy on system performance and other features.

Impact on System Service Continuity

LUN copy requires host service suspension to ensure data availability. After the replication is complete, the host service can be resumed.

Interaction with Other Features and Functions (Where LUN Copy Is Configured Earlier than Other Features and Functions)

When LUN Copy is configured (with the existence of source and target LUNs) before other features/functions, the relationships between LUN Copy and other features/functions are described in Table 1-2.

Specifications Restriction

The maximum quantities of supported LUN copy pairs and target LUNs differ depending on product model. For details, refer to Software Specifications in OceanStor 5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Storage System V300R002 Product Description.

Application Restriction

LUN copy can be implemented within OceanStor storage systems or between OceanStor storage systems and Huawei-certified third-party storage systems. Table 1-4 describes the storage systems supported by LUN copy.

NOTE:

For details about the OceanStor series storage system models and mainstream third-party storage system models that the LUN copy is compatible with, log in to the HUAWEI enterprise website http://enterprise.huawei.com, search Storage Interoperability Matrix, select the category Collateral. View the models in the Huawei OceanStor V3 Converged Storage Interoperability Matrix .

Storage systems that are not listed in the interoperability matrix are incompatible third-party storage systems. You are advised not to connect incompatible third-party storage systems to a local storage system for hosting because the local storage system is incompatible with those third-party storage systems. When you want to connect an incompatible third-party storage system to a local storage system to meet service requirements, contact Huawei technical support.
