Mesh Link Service Failures
STA on Mesh Link Fails to Associate with MPP Common Causes
- The mesh link is abnormal. For details, see section MP on the Mesh Link Cannot Go Online.
- If the mesh link is normal, troubleshoot the problem based on the user association failures. For details, see section Troubleshooting: STA Fails to Go Online.
The MPP and AC are directly connected through wired links; therefore, there is no difference between common wireless networking mode and mesh networking node.
STA on Mesh Link Fails to Associate with MP Common Causes
- The configurations of MPP, MP, and service VAP are incorrect.
- The physical link and data packet exchange between MP and MPP are abnormal.
- Troubleshoot the problem based on the user association failures. For details, see section Troubleshooting: STA Fails to Go Online.
Troubleshooting Flowchart
Troubleshooting Procedure (CLI)
- Check whether the MP is online.
- Check whether the MP is online on the AC.

- If the MP is online, go to step 2; otherwise, troubleshoot the problem according to section MP on the Mesh Link Cannot Go Online.
- Check whether the MP is online on the AC.
- Check whether the configuration of service VAP is correct.
Check whether the service VAP profile under the MPP is correctly configured.

- Check whether ping packets are exchanged successfully between MP and MPP.
If the ping packets cannot be exchanged, data packet exchange is abnormal. Analyze the packet loss reason.
Check whether packet statistics in WIFI SDK:
- Number of printed packets:
debugging wifi print on print-num 10 print-num
- Type of printed packets:
debugging wifi print condition icmp condition
- Number of printed packets and tracing function:
debugging wifi print condition counter query
If you fail to log in to the MP, capture packets on the air interface or log in through the management VAP in offline mode.
If the ping operation fails, use the MP as a terminal. For details, see section Ping Packets of the STA Are Lost.
If the ping operation is successful, go to step 4.
- Number of printed packets:
- If the fault persists, troubleshoot the problem according to section Troubleshooting: STA Fails to Go Online.
Troubleshooting Procedure (Web)
- Check whether the MP is online.
Choose Monitoring > AP to check the AP list and whether the MP status is normal. If the MP status is normal, go to step 2. If the MP status is not normal, troubleshoot the problem according to section MP on the Mesh Link Cannot Go Online.
- Check the configuration of service VAP under the MPP.
If the configuration of service VAP profile is incorrect, correct the VLAN and forwarding mode configurations. If the configuration of service VAP profile is correct, go to step 3.
- Check whether ping packets are exchanged successfully between MP and MPP.
Troubleshoot the problem in the CLI.
- If the fault persists, troubleshoot the problem according to section Troubleshooting: STA Fails to Go Online.
User Services Are Interrupted Common Causes
If the mesh link is abnormal, see section MP on the Mesh Link Cannot Go Online.
