Constraints on Functions of WACs and APs in Different Versions
- If a WAC manages APs running earlier versions, functions added or modified on the WAC do not take effect on these APs.
For example, if function A is added in V200R019C00, it will not take effect on the APs in V200R010 after being configured and delivered by the WAC.
- If a WAC manages APs running later versions, only the functions supported by the WAC take effect on the APs. The functions added or deleted on the APs do not take effect.
For example, if function B is added to an AP in V200R019C10 but is not supported by its connected WAC in V200R019C00, this function does not take effect on the AP.
For another example, function C is supported by a WAC in V200R019C00 but is deleted from APs in V200R019C10. In this case, function C does not take effect on the APs.
The functions that take effect on an AP are affected by its own specifications, regardless of whether the AP and WAC run different versions. If a function is not supported by the AP's specifications, it will not take effect on the AP even if it is configured on the WAC. Use Info-Finder to query the specifications supported by WACs and APs.
