Wireless Configuration Synchronization Fails
Symptom
In the master/backup deployment scenario, wireless configuration synchronization fails.
Possible Causes
- The wireless configuration synchronization link is not set up.
- The master and backup WACs have inconsistent configurations.
- After wireless configuration synchronization is manually performed, the configuration fails to be restored after the backup WAC restarts.
Troubleshooting Procedure
- Check whether the wireless configuration synchronization link is set up.
[AC] display sync-configuration status Info: This operation may take a few seconds. Please wait for a moment.done. Controller role:Master/Backup/Local -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Controller IP Role Device Type Version Status Last synced -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 192.168.10.1 Local - - up - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total: 1
- If Status in the command output is up, the configuration on the master WAC has been synchronized to the backup WAC.
- If Status in the command output is down, the configuration on the master WAC fails to be synchronized to the backup WAC. Ensure that the master and backup WACs can ping each other, and verify the configuration of wireless configuration synchronization by referring to the product documentation.
- Check whether the master and backup WACs have the same configurations.
If the status of the wireless configuration synchronization link in Step 1 is cfg-mismatch or config check fail, the configurations of the master and backup WACs are inconsistent. In this case, perform the following operations:
- Run the display unresumed-configuration command in the diagnostic view of the backup WAC to check for configuration restoration failure records.
- Check for inconsistent configuration parameters.
- In versions earlier than V200R019C00, run the display current-configuration sync command on the master and backup WACs to check the public configurations in effect. Compare the public configurations and check for inconsistencies.
- In V200R019C00 and later versions, run the display sync-configuration compare command on the master WAC to check whether the public configurations on the master and backup WACs are consistent.
- Check whether there are commands that fail to be executed during configuration synchronization. If the status of the wireless configuration synchronization link in Step 1 is cfg-mismatch or config proc fail, the configuration synchronization link is successfully set up, but the configuration synchronization commands fail to be executed. Check the commands that fail to be executed during synchronization:
- In versions earlier than V200R019C00, check the command execution failure records in the operation.log file.

- In V200R019C00 and later versions, run the display sync-configuration fail-record command on the backup WAC to check the commands that fail to be executed.
- In versions earlier than V200R019C00, check the command execution failure records in the operation.log file.
- Run the synchronize-configuration command in the WLAN view of the master WAC to manually trigger wireless configuration synchronization.
- If the fault persists, collect one-click diagnosis information of the WAC as well as user logs and diagnostic logs generated in the corresponding time range, and contact technical support personnel.
