Is VLAN-based Authorization Supported by MAC Address Authentication and Portal Authentication?
MAC address authentication supports VLAN-based authorization. However, if a terminal has obtained an IP address in the PVID before MAC address authentication succeeds, the terminal does not initiate a DHCP process in the new VLAN delivered during authorization. In this case, VLAN-based authorization is meaningless; therefore, this function is not recommended for terminals that use MAC address authentication.
Portal authentication does not support VLAN-based authorization.
