Device Power-On: The Maintenance Terminal Does Not Display Anything Or Displays Garbled Characters
Symptom
After the device is powered on, no information or only garbled characters are displayed on the maintenance terminal connected to the terminal.
Possible Causes
- The power module of the device is faulty or the device is not powered on.
- The serial port connected to the device is incorrectly configured.
- The cable is not properly connected.
Procedure
- Check the power indicator on the device panel. If the power indicator is on, the power module is working properly. Otherwise, the device is not powered on. Ensure that the device is powered on properly.
- Check whether the correct combo interface is selected and whether the physical attributes of the PC are consistent with those of the serial interface. The default parameters are as follows:
- Baud rate: 9600
- Data bits: 8
- Stop bits: 1
- Parity: None
- Flow control: None
When you log in to the AC6800V through the console port, set the baud rate to 115200.
- Check whether the serial cable is securely connected. If necessary, replace the current cable with a properly-functioning one. If the fault is rectified, the serial cable is faulty.
