How Do I Configure an AP to Go Online Using a Static IP Address?
After logging in to an AP, configure it as follows:
- Configure the login mode of the AP.
[Huawei] ap-address mode static
- Configure the IP address and gateway address for the AP to go online in static mode.
[Huawei] ap-address static ip-address 10.23.100.100 24 10.23.100.1
- (Optional) Configure the IP address of the AC. For Layer 2 networking, the AC's IP address is not mandatory. For Layer 3 networking, the AC's IP address is mandatory.

- After an AP is configured to go online using a static IP address, the configuration takes effect only after the AP is restarted.
- When configuring a static IP address, you can configure the gateway address or not.
- A maximum of four IP addresses can be configured for an AC at the same time. The IP addresses are separated by spaces.
- You can run the display ap-address-info command to query the configuration result.
- An AP can go online through the serial port or Telnet.
