Recovering the BootROM Password

Recovering the BIOS Password
The basic input/output system (BIOS) of a device provides configuration recovery, system software upgrade, and other functions to enhance system security and facilitate maintenance. The BIOS password is important for system security and must be kept safe. If you forget your BIOS password, recover the default password and then configure a new password.
Use a serial cable to connect a PC to the device and perform the following operations.
- Recover the default BIOS password and restart the device.

The BootROM password may vary in different software versions. For details, see Default User Names and Passwords for WLAN ACs and APs.
<Huawei> system-view [Huawei] diagnose [Huawei-diagnose] reset boot password The password used to enter the BootROM menu will be restored to the factory setting, continue? - Change the password in the BIOS menu.
When the message "Press CTRL+B to enter BIOS menu" is displayed, press Ctrl+B and enter the password to display the BIOS main menu.

Recovering the Uboot Password
The Uboot password is important for system security and must be kept safe. If you forget your Uboot password, recover the default password and then configure a new password.
Use a serial cable to connect a PC to the device and perform the following operations.
- Recover the default Uboot password and restart the device.

- Change the Uboot password in Uboot view.
When the message "Press f or F to stop Auto-Boot" is displayed, press F and enter the password to enter the Uboot view.

Recovering the BootLoader Password
The BootLoader is the basis for device security and maintenance, and provides functions such as configuration recovery and system software upgrade. The BootLoader password is important for system security and must be kept safe. If you forget the BootLoader password, recover the default password and then configure a new password.
Use a serial cable to connect a PC to the device and perform the following operations.
- Configure a new BootLoader password and restart the device.

- Configure a new BootLoader password.
- Restart the device. When the message "Press CTRL+B to enter BOOT menu" is displayed, press Ctrl+B within 3 seconds to access the BootLoader main menu.
By default, there is no BootLoader password. You need to configure a new BootLoader password.
- Enter and confirm the new BootLoader password.
Info: The password is empty. For security purposes, change the password. New password: //Enter the new password. Confirm password: //Confirm the new password. The password is changed successfully.
- Restart the device. When the message "Press CTRL+B to enter BOOT menu" is displayed, press Ctrl+B within 3 seconds to access the BootLoader main menu.
