Version Mapping Between WACs and APs
The version mapping between WACs and APs is as follows:
- In V200R009 and earlier versions, WACs and APs must run the same C version to work together.
For example, a WAC in V200R007C20 can only work with APs in V200R007C20.
- From V200R010, WACs can work with APs in earlier versions. That is, a WAC in V200R010 can work with APs in V200R009 or V200R010. However, in V200R010, WACs cannot work with APs in later versions. That is, a WAC in V200R010 cannot work with APs in V200R019C00 and later versions.
- From V200R019C00SPC500, WACs can work with APs in two earlier or later R versions. For easy memorization, it is called "N±2" cross-version mapping.
For example, WACs in V200R019C10 can manage APs in V200R019, APs in earlier V200R009 and V200R010, and APs in later V200R020 and V200R021.
You can run the display system-information command on an AP to check compatible earlier WAC versions.
For details about the version mapping between WACs and APs, see Quick Reference for WLAN AP Version Mapping and Models.
In the WAC + Fit central AP + RU networking architecture: In V200R019C00 and earlier versions, central APs and RUs must run the same version. From V200R019C10, the version mapping between central APs and RUs is not mandatory. They only need to meet the version mapping requirements of the WAC.
