An AP Can Be Restarted Using Command Lines on the AC, Restarted Manually After Login, By Holding down the Default Button on the AP or Powering off and then Powering on the AP. What Are Their Differences and Application Scenarios?
- Run the ap-reset command in the WLAN view of the AC to restart a specified AP or restart APs in a batch. This command applies only to online APs.
- V200R005 and earlier versions: ap-reset { all | id ap-id | ap-type { type ap-type | type-id type-id } }
- V200R006 and later versions: ap-reset { all | ap-name ap-name | ap-mac ap-mac | ap-id ap-id | ap-group ap-group | ap-type { type type-name | type-id type-id } }
- Log in to the AP and run the reboot command in the user view to restart the AP. You can restart an AP using this method only after you log in to the AP using Telnet or through the console port. This method is used to restart APs that do not go online on the AC. You can connect a PC to the wired port of the AP and log in to the AP using Telnet.
- Hold down the Default button to restart the AP. Using this method, you can restart an AP that is not online on the AC without logging to the AP.
- Restart the AP by powering off and then powering on the AP. If the AP uses PoE power supply, run the undo poe enable and poe enable commands in the interface view of the device providing power to restart the AP.
