Incorrect PoE Injector Installation Position
Symptom
In a metro project, multiple PoE injectors are damaged and cannot be used during installation and commissioning.
Fault Location
PoE injectors are installed in waterproof boxes. However, a large amount of condensation exists in the waterproof boxes due to the damp environment in metro tunnels during commissioning, and water flows into the PoE injectors along the cables. As a result, the PoE injectors are damaged.
Solution
Install a PoE injector in the waterproof box horizontally rather than vertically, and make drip loops for the cables connected to the PoE injector, as shown in the figure.
Summary
In a damp environment, take waterproof measures when installing a PoE injector and accessories. Properly deploy a PoE injector and accessories in a waterproof box and do not make ports face upwards. In addition, make drip loops for cables to prevent water from flowing into the PoE injector or accessories along the cables after condensation.
