Prerequisites
You need to know how to log in to a device through the console port.
Logging In to a Device Through the Console Port
- Prepare a console cable.
- Install the terminal emulation software on your PC.
You can use the terminal emulation software of the operating system on the PC. If the operating system does not provide terminal emulation software, install third-party terminal emulation software according to user guide or online help of the software.
- Use a console cable to connect your PC to the console port of the device. Connect the DB9 female connector of the console cable to the 9-pin serial port on the PC, and connect the RJ45 connector to the console port on the device.
- Start the terminal emulation software on the PC, create a connection, select a serial port, and set communication parameters.
The parameter settings are as follows:
- Bits per second: 9600
- Data bits: 8
- Parity: None
- Stop bits: 1
- Flow control: None
Table 19-19 lists the default settings of a console port.
- Press Enter, and then type the password or both the user name and password as prompted.
Connecting to an AP Through the Bluetooth Serial Port
- In the Bluetooth coverage of an AP, enable Bluetooth on the user's terminal and start the CloudCampus app.
- Choose Tool > Manufacturer Customization and enable Bluetooth Serial Port.
- Find the target AP based on the MAC address and touch Connect.
- In the dialog box that is displayed, enter the pairing code 123456 and touch OK.
When the message "Successful connection" is displayed, touch Enter. The AP login page is displayed.
The pairing code is needed only for mobile terminals running Android 9.0 and later versions. For mobile terminals running versions earlier than Android 9.0, the pairing code is not required because they will automatically connect to the AP after you touch Connect.
- Enter the user name and password as prompted to log in to the user view.
If the login dialog box is not displayed after you touch Enter, touch any key on the terminal keyboard to activate the screen.
