Checking the Equipment Room Environment
Context
A normal operating environment is required to ensure that devices operate properly.
Check Criteria
- Air conditioners in the equipment room work properly.
- The operating temperature and humidity of devices must meet the specified conditions.
- There are no sundries around the chassis and devices.
Procedure
- Check whether the air conditioners in the equipment room are running properly.
Verify that the air conditioners keep running properly, and the equipment room temperature is within an acceptable range.
- Check the temperature and humidity of the equipment room.
- If the temperature in the equipment room fails to meet the requirement for a long time, repair or replace the air conditioning system.
- If the relative humidity of the equipment room is high, install a dehumidifier. If the relative humidity of the equipment room is low, install a humidifier.
- Check whether there are sundries around the device, especially around fans.
- Cleaning air filters: The air filters are cleaned and replaced in time to prevent dust on cabinet doors or fan assembly from affecting heat dissipation.
- Cleaning fan frames: If a fan frame is covered by dust, clean or replace it in time; otherwise, the fan frame may fail to work properly. This poses a potential threat to the stable operation of the device.
