What Are Service Set Types on an AC? (V200R005C10 and Earlier Versions)
Service sets are classified into service, AP management, and AC management types.
- Service: STAs can access only network resources but not APs. Service VAPs are applicable to regular WLAN deployment scenarios.
- AP management: STAs can access only APs but not network resources. APs determine uplink forwarding based on the data forwarding status of a management service set. AP management VAPs are applicable to STA access and AP management scenarios.
- AC management: Service sets of this type support service functions as well as AC management. An AC identifies users based on VLAN information. After the AC determines that a user is in a management service set during authentication, it identifies the user as a management user and allows the user to access the AC using Telnet.
