How Often Does a Switch Report Alarms After Detecting MAC Address Flapping?

How Often Does a Switch Report Alarms After Detecting MAC Address Flapping?

In versions earlier than V100R005C10, a switch reports an alarm about MAC address flapping after detecting MAC address flapping three times and the interval between two consecutive MAC address flapping events is shorter than the aging time of MAC address entries (5 minutes by default). The frequency cannot be configured.

In V100R005C10 and later versions, if MAC address flapping occurs for 10 consecutive times and the period between two consecutive MAC address flapping events is shorter than the aging time of MAC address entries (5 minutes by default), an alarm is reported when the 10th MAC address flapping is detected. You can run the mac-address flapping detection [ security-level { low | middle | high } ] command to configure the security level for MAC address flapping detection.
