Collecting Logs to Help Determine Power Module Status

Collecting Logs to Help Determine Power Module Status

Troubleshooting Method

Check whether power failures have occurred in the equipment room to determine whether the external power supply system works normally. If the external power supply system works normally, collect device information and perform cross test to locate the fault.

  1. Check whether any other devices using the same power supply system has reboot records around the time when the power module failed. If such reboot records are found, the problem is caused by exceptions in the external power supply system. If no other devices in the equipment room have experienced the same problem, go to step 2.
  2. Collect the following information to help determine the power module status:
    • Output of the display version command
    • Output of the display device command
    • Output of the display alarm active command
    • Output of the display device power system command
    • Output of the display device elabel command
  3. Install another power module that can work normally in the switch or move the problematic power module to another switch to determine whether the power module or the switch itself is faulty.
    • If the power module is faulty, send it back for repair.
    • If the switch is faulty, contact technical support personnel.
