Eth-Trunk Load Balancing Is Uneven in a Stack Scenario

Eth-Trunk Load Balancing Is Uneven in a Stack Scenario

This section provides a troubleshooting case that Eth-Trunk load balancing in the stack scenario is uneven.

Device A-1 and Device A-2 constitute stack device A, and device B-1 and Device B-2 constitute stack device B. Stack devices A and B use the inter-device Eth-Trunk to forward traffic.

Problem Description

Most traffic is forwarded through 10GE1/2/0/5 of stack device A, and less traffic is forwarded through 10GE2/2/0/5. The traffic is unevenly load balanced.

Cause Analysis

By default, the Eth-Trunk is enabled to preferentially forward local traffic. This function causes uneven load balancing.

Run the local-preference disable command in the Eth-Trunk interface view to disable the Eth-Trunk from preferentially forwarding local traffic.

Whether the Eth-Trunk on the stack device is enabled to preferentially forward local traffic depends on the actual services. You are advised to change the configuration according to customer requirements. Generally, changing the configuration is not recommended.
