  1. Check whether the route for establishing a tunnel interface is valid. If the route is invalid, troubleshoot the route problem.

  2. For the tunnel interface configured with the Keepalive function, check the traffic and CPU usage of the tunnel interface on the Cisco switch. Traffic on the tunnel interface of an old Cisco switch is forwarded by the CPU. If there is heavy traffic, Keepalive packets cannot be forwarded normally. As a result, the tunnel interface becomes Down.
