Front Panel

Figure 2-3 and Figure 2-4 shows front panel of the X6800.

NOTE:

The X6800 provides eight 4U8 slots numbered 1-8 from left to right. If 4U4 nodes are required, the node occupies two 4U8 slots and the slot number of the server node is the odd number.

Rear Panel

The X6800 chassis provides four power supply units (PSUs), two management module slots, four or eight I/O modules, and five fan modules at the rear.

Figure 2-5 shows the rear panel of the X6800.

NOTE:

The number of IO modules allowed in an X6800 server varies depending on the type of the server nodes configured. Figure 2-5 shows an X6800 server configured with 4U4 server nodes.

SN

A serial number (SN) is a string that uniquely identifies a product. An SN is required when you apply for technical support from Huawei.

Figure 2-6 shows the format of an SN.

Indicates the category code (two characters).

Indicates the item identification code (eight characters).

Indicates the vendor code (two characters).

Indicates the year and month (two characters).

  • The first character indicates the year. Digits 1 to 9 indicate 2001 to 2009, letters A to H indicate 2010 to 2017, letters J to N indicate 2018 to 2022, and letters P to Y indicate 2023 to 2032.
    NOTE:

    The years from 2010 are represented by upper-case letters excluding I, O, and Z because the three letters are similar to digits 1, 0, and 2.

  • The second character indicates the month. Digits 1 to 9 indicate January to September, and letters A to C indicate October to December.

Indicates the serial number (six characters).

Indicates RoHS compliance (one character).

Indicates the internal model number of the server.
