Environment Specifications

Environment Specifications

Table 2-9 lists the X6800 environment specifications.

Table 2-9 X6800 environment specifications

Operating temperature: 5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F) (ASHRAE Class A3 compliant)

Non-operating temperature: -40°C to +65°C (-40°F to +149°F)

  • The X6800 supports the highest operating temperature of 35°C (95°F) when one fan fails.
  • The X6800 supports the highest operating temperature of 35°C (95°F) when XH620 V3 configured with four 2.5-inch HDDs.
  • When E5-16XX V3 processors are configured, the four front 2.5-inch hard disks cannot be configured, and the operating temperature range is f5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F).
  • The X6800 supports the highest operating temperature of 30°C (86°F) when the XH622 V3 is configured with P100 GPUs.
  • The supported operating temperature range is 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F) when different compute nodes are mixed in the server.

Relative humidity (RH)

Operating humidity: 8% to 90% RH (non-condensing)

Non-operating humidity: 5% to 95% RH (non-condensing)

Temperature change rate

20ºC/h (36°F/h)

  • Operating altitude: ≤ 3000 m (9842.4 ft)
  • Storage altitude: ≤ 12,000 m (39369.6 ft)

When the X6800 is used at an altitude of higher than 900 m (2952.72 ft), the operating temperature decreases by 1°C (1.8°F) as the altitude increases by 300 m (984.24 ft).

  • At an altitude of over 3000 m (9842.4 ft), only Titanium PSUs can be used.
  • HDDs are not supported at an altitude of over 3000 m (9842.4 ft).

One cyclical sweep in each axial direction at the rate of 0.1 oct/min, with a total of three axial directions

5 Hz to 10 Hz: 5 mm (0.20 in., peak-to-peak value)

10 Hz to 100 Hz: 1 m/s2

Tested to withstand half sine wave shock pulse with peak acceleration of 2 G for 11 ms, applied 3 times to each surface from three axial directions.

The following data is measured in accordance with ISO 7779 (ECMA 74) and ISO 9296 (ECMA 109) when the server is operating at 23°C (73.4°F).

  • Declared A-weighted sound power levels (LWAd): 6.4 Bels
  • Declared average bystander position A-weighted sound pressure levels (LpAm): 50.3 dBA

  • LWAd: 7.2 Bels
  • LpAm: 58.4 dBA

The actual sound levels generated during server operating vary depending on the server configuration, loads, and ambient temperature.

Corrosive air pollutant

  • Corrosion rate of the copper test piece: < 300 Å/month (in compliance with the ANSI/ISA-71.04-2013 gaseous corrosion level G1).
  • Corrosion rate of the silver test piece: < 200 Å/month.

Particulate pollutant

  • The ISO14664-1 Class 8 requirements are met.

You are advised to ask a professional organization to monitor particulate pollutants in the equipment room.

  • There is no explosive, conductive, magnetic, or corrosive dust in the equipment room.

Power consumption

The power consumption changes depending on the server configuration. For details, see Huawei Server Power Calculator.

Table 2-10 describes the heat dissipation requirements of X6800 CPUs of different models.
