Installing a Flexible CMA

This topic describes how to install a flexible cable management arm (CMA) in the chassis.

Operation Scenario

A CMA needs to be installed in the chassis.


  1. Precautions

    The chassis and all components in the chassis have been installed.

  2. Preparations
    • At least 1U space is reserved under the chassis for which a CMA is to be installed.
    • The CMA has been unpacked and placed near the chassis.
  3. Tools
    • Phillips screwdriver: used to tighten screws.
    • ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves: used to prevent ESD damage.


  1. Wear an ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves.
  2. Take the CMA out of the ESD bag, and raise the ejector lever.
  3. Align the CMA with the chassis slot and insert the CMA into the slot. See step (1) in ‎Figure 3-14.

    The CMA falls and the latch is fastened automatically.

  4. Tighten the two screws using a Phillips screwdriver to secure the CMA. See step (2) in Figure 3-14.
  5. Lift the CMA until the ejector levers are fastened. See step (3) in Figure 3-14.
