Information Summary

Function Description

The Information Summary page allows you to obtain basic information about the server, virtual buttons, and common operation shortcuts.

Page Description

On the menu bar, choose Information. In the navigation tree, choose Information Summary. The Information Summary page is displayed.

The Information Summary page consists of four areas.

The areas are shown in Figure 5-3.

Table 5-2 describes the information displayed in each area.

Basic Information

Displays basic information about the server, including:

  • Product Name: indicates the server model.
  • Product Serial Number: indicates the server serial number.
  • IP Address: indicates the IP address for logging in to iBMC.
  • iBMC Firmware Version: indicates the iBMC firmware version.
  • BIOS Firmware Version: indicates the basic input/output system (BIOS) firmware version.
  • GUID: indicates the globally unique identifier of the server.
  • Maximum Number of Web Sessions: indicates the maximum number of users that are allowed to log in to the iBMC web user interface (WebUI) simultaneously.
  • Number of Online Users: indicates the number of online users.

    For example, 2 (Web: 2, CLI: 0) indicates that two users have logged in to the iBMC WebUI and no user has logged in to the iBMC command-line interface (CLI).

  • Power State: The green icon indicates that the server OS is powered on, and the gray icon indicates that the server OS is powered off.
  • Health Light State: The value is the same as the status of the health indicator on the server. Users can view the health light information on this page.
  • UID Indicator State: The value is the same as the status of the unit identification (UID) indicator on the server. Users can view the UID light information on this page.
  • Critical Alarms: indicates the total number of critical alarms. (Critical alarms are generated for the faults that may power off the server and even interrupt services. You need to take measures immediately to rectify the faults. )
  • Major Alarms: indicates the total number of major alarms. (Major alarms are generated for the faults that may affect normal system operating or interrupt services. )
  • Minor Alarms: indicates the total number of minor alarms. (Minor alarms are generated for the faults that do not have major impacts on the system; however, you need to take measures immediately before the faults get worse. )

Virtual Buttons

Provides common virtual buttons.

  • Power Button: includes Power On, Normal Power Off, and Forced Power Off.
  • UID: includes On, Off, and Blink (the maximum blinking duration is 255 seconds).

Common Operation Shortcuts

Provides common operation shortcuts. You can click a shortcut to quickly go to the required page. The shortcuts include the following:

  • User Settings: goes to the Local User and LDAP Group areas on the User Settings page.
  • NetWork Settings: goes to the NetWork Settings page.
  • Power Control: goes to the Power Control page.
  • Upgrade: goes to the Firmware Upgrade page.
  • One-Click Info Collection: downloads collected hardware information. For details about collected information, see One-Click Information Collection.
  • Restore Factory Settings: goes to the Restore Factory Settings dialog box. Click OK or Cancel in the dialog box.

    If you restore factory settings, all user configurations are restored, the following items are only part of them:

    • Serial port interconnection status
    • Power capping settings
    • LDAP and SSL certificates deletion
    • User names, passwords, validity periods, group settings, and account locking information
    • IP address obtaining modes, IP addresses, subnet masks, and default gateways
    • SNMP settings
    • SNMP trap and SNMP settings for alarm reporting
    • FTP status (enabled or disabled)
  • KVM: goes to the Remote page.

Energy Saving Statistics

Displays energy saving information of the server.

  • Energy saving rate: displays the energy saving rate of the server compared with a similar device from a competitor.
  • Save Power: indicates the power saved by the server.
  • Reduces carbon emission: indicates the carbon emission reduced by the server.
NOTE:
  • Energy saving statistics are calculated as follows:
    • The energy saving rate is a comprehensive indicator (5% by default).
    • Reduced power consumption = Actual power consumption x (1/(1 - Energy saving rate) -1)
    • Saving 1 kWh power = Reducing 0.997 kg Carbon Dioxide emission
  • To re-collect statistics about energy saving, choose Power > Power and click Reset Statistics.

Component Info

Function Description

The Component Info page allows you to view information about the server product, mainboard, and components.

Page Description

On the menu bar, choose Information. In the navigation tree, choose Component Info. The Component Info page is displayed.

Indicates the active image version of the Universal Boot Loader (U-Boot) for an embedded system.

iBMC Secondary Uboot Version

Indicates the standby image version of the U-Boot for an embedded system.

PCB Version

Indicates the printed circuit board (PCB) version.

Board ID

Indicates the board ID.

Mainboard Manufacturer

Indicates the mainboard manufacturer.

Mainboard Model

Indicates the mainboard model.

Mainboard Serial Number

Indicates the mainboard serial number.

NIC

Indicates NIC information:
  • Name, manufacturer, type, PCB version, and board ID of each NIC
  • Quantity and MAC addresses of NIC ports

Processor

Indicates processor information:
  • Maximum number of processors and number of present processors
  • Name, manufacturer, model, and clock speed of each processor

Memory

Indicates DIMM information:
  • Maximum number of DIMMs and number of present DIMMs
  • Name, manufacturer, capacity, and clock speed of each DIMM

Hdd

Indicates hard disk information:
  • Maximum number of hard disks and number of present hard disks
  • Name, interface type, SN, model, and manufacturer of each hard disk

Security Module

Indicates security module information:
  • Maximum number of security modules and number of present security modules
  • Specification type, specification version, manufacturer, and manufacturer version of each security module

Raid Card

Indicates RAID controller card information:
  • Maximum number of RAID controller cards and number of present RAID controller cards
  • Name, manufacturer, slot number, type, supported RAID levels, PCB version, and board ID of each RAID controller card

Riser Card

Indicates Riser card information:
  • Maximum number of Riser cards and number of present Riser cards
  • Name, manufacturer, slot number, type, and board ID of each Riser card

HDD Backplane

Indicates HDD backplane information:
  • Maximum number of HDD backplanes and number of present HDD backplanes
  • Name, manufacturer, slot number, type, PCB version, CPLD version, and board ID of each HDD backplane

Fan

Indicates fan information:
  • Maximum number of fans and number of present fans
  • Name, model, speed, and speed ratio of each fan
Procedure
  1. On the menu bar, choose Information.
  2. In the navigation tree, choose Component Info.

    The Component Info page is displayed.

  3. View information about the server product and the installation status of components on the Component Info page.
  4. Click to view information about the mainboard and each component.
    NOTE:
    • The parameters on the Component Info page vary according to the server model.
    • To collapse component information, click .
    • Processor(1/2) indicates that up to two processors can be configured and only one processor is currently detected. The installation status of other components is represented in the same way.

Real-Time Monitoring

Function Description
The Real-Time Monitoring page allows you to view the following information:
  • CPU usage of the latest one hour
  • Memory bandwidth usage of the latest one hour
  • Historical data about the air inlet temperature
Page Description

On the menu bar, choose Information. In the navigation tree, choose Real-Time Monitoring. The Real-Time Monitoring page is displayed.

CPU Usage(%)

Indicates the CPU usage of running applications. The CPU usage displayed on the Real-Time Monitoring page is related to the CPU frequency, and differs from the CPU usage displayed in the operating system (OS).

Indicates the memory bandwidth usage of running applications.

Procedure
  1. On the menu bar, choose Information.
  2. In the navigation tree, choose Real-Time Monitoring.

    The Real-Time Monitoring page is displayed.

  3. Click next to CPU Usage(%), Memory Bandwidth Usage(%), or Inlet Temp(°C) to view real-time component information.
    NOTE:
    • To collapse real-time component information, click .
    • To clear statistics, click Clear Historical Records in the Inlet Temp(°C) area.

Sensor

Function Description

The Sensor page allows you to view information about all sensors.

Page Description

On the menu bar, choose Information. In the navigation tree, choose Sensor. The Sensor page is displayed.

Sensor

Identifies a logical module or physical entity that monitors various indicators of the server.

Current Value

Indicates the value of an indicator that the sensor is monitoring.

The value N/A indicates that the sensor cannot monitor the indicator.

Critical Lower Threshold

Specifies the lower threshold for a sensor to generate a critical alarm.

Major Lower Threshold

Specifies the lower threshold for a sensor to generate a major alarm.

Minor Lower Threshold

Specifies the lower threshold for a sensor to generate a minor alarm.

Minor Upper Threshold

Specifies the upper threshold for a sensor to generate a minor alarm.

Major Upper Threshold

Specifies the upper threshold for a sensor to generate a major alarm.

Critical Upper Threshold

Specifies the upper threshold for a sensor to generate a critical alarm.

Unit

Indicates the indicator unit.

The value N/A indicates that the sensor cannot monitor the indicator.

Status

Indicates the threshold sensor scan status.
  • ok: The sensor is working properly.
  • N/A: The sensor cannot monitor the indicator.
  • ucr: The sensor detects a minor alarm.
  • cr: The sensor detects a major alarm.
  • nr: The sensor detects a critical alarm.
Indicates the discrete sensor scan status.
  • N/A: The sensor does not detect a value or status. The possible cause that the monitored device is not installed.
  • 0xXXXX: For example, 0x8000. The value is defined based on Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) specifications. A hexadecimal value indicates the sensor status. For details about value meanings, see the alarm manual of the specific server.
Procedure
  1. On the menu bar, choose Information.
  2. In the navigation tree, choose Sensor.

    The Sensor page is displayed.

  3. In the Sensor page, view all sensors of the server and the current value and thresholds of each monitored indicator.
    NOTE:
    To search for sensor information, enter a search criterion in the Search text box.
