Configuring Data for Interworking with the Telepresence System

This section describes how to configure eSpace 8950 data for interworking with the telepresence system.

Context

eSpace 8950 directly registers with the SC server and its number is allocated by the SMC. eSpace 8950 connects to the SC server using the user name and password configured by the SMC administrator.

Figure 5-6 shows the network of eSpace 8950 working with the VC V500R002C00 solution.

Configuration Methods

You can configure data for interworking with the telepresence system using different methods, as listed in Table 5-31.

Method

eSight

On eSight, choose Configuration > IP Phone Management > IP Phone Upgrade Management > Configuration File Management, and click the Server tab. Set Network Environment to VC, and the address of SIP Server 1 to the IP address of SC Server.

DHCP Option 246

In the configuration file, set NetworkingEnvironment to 7 and PrimaryRegServerAddress to the IP address of SC Server. Then, deliver the configuration file to eSpace 8950. For details, see Configuration File Delivery.

Web

On the phone web page, choose Advanced > Server. Set Network Environment to VC and the address of SIP Server 1 to the IP address of SC Server.

LCD

On the phone LCD, Tap and choose APPLICATIONS > Settings, and choose ADVANCED > Server. Set Network Environment to VC, SIP Server 1 to the IP address of SC Server.

In the telepresence environment, eSpace 8950 supports only basic calling, telepresence conference joining, and basic conference control operations. To learn detailed operations, see the "Related Operations in the Telepresence Environment" section in the eSpace 8950 user guide document.

LDAP Directory Configuration

On the telepresence network, eSpace 8950 IP phones can connect to the EUA server as the LDAP directory server. The server configuration procedure is as follows:
  1. Log in to the web management page of the IP phone as the admin user.
  2. Choose AdvancedServer.
  3. Set related parameters, as shown in Figure 5-7. For details about the parameter description, see section LDAP Directory.
