Logging In to the CX110 DFx

This topic describes how to log in to the CX110 DFx over a serial port.

The DFx is used to export the flash memory files in CX110 to create programming software, and imported the created programming software to the CX110 flash memory to check whether the programming software is available.

The programming software includes guide programs for starting the operating system (OS), root file systems, kernel, and other service application software, and is used for a PROGRAMMER during the production to write programs in the flash memory.

Prerequisites

Password for logging in to the CX110 BIOS.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the command-line interface (CLI) of the GE switching plane.
  2. Log in to the CX110 BIOS.

    1. Run the following command on the CLI of the GE switching plane to restart the GE switching plane:

      <HUAWEI> reboot

      The command output is as follows:

      Warning: Current configuration will be saved to the next startup saved-configuration file! Continue? [Y/N]:

      Enter Y to save the configuration. The command output is as follows:

      Now saving the current configuration.                                            
      Save the configuration successfully.                                             
                                                                                       
      begin synchronize configuration to SMM ...                                       
      slot 4: configuration is the same with SMM, needn't sync to SMM.                                
                                                                                       
      System will reboot! Continue? [Y/N]:     

      Enter Y to restart the GE switching plane.

    2. Press Ctrl+B when the system displays Press CTRL+B to enter BIOS menu.

      The command output is as follows:

    3. Enter the BIOS login password.

      The BIOS menu screen is displayed:

      Enter your choice(1-9):  
             
            BIOS Menu (Version: 2.42) 
      
           1. Continue to boot 
           2. Update from serial interface 
           3. Update from ethernet interface 
           4. Modify startup parameters 
           5. File system 
           6. Modify BIOS password 
           7. Modify console password 
           8. Rollback from VRPv8 to VRPv5
           9. Reboot 

  3. Log in to the CX110 DFx.

    1. Press Ctrl+E to enter the DFx menu page.

      The command output is as follows:

              DFx Submenu 
       
           1. Dump NANDFLASH to Local File 
           2. Dump NORFLASH to Local File 
           3. Display Board Elabel 
           4. Display Board Mac Address 
           5. Set Aging Time 
         6. Clear Aging Time 
           7. Return 
       
      Enter your choice(1-7): 
           
    2. Perform operations on the menu based on actual service requirements.
